Beginning January 1, 2012, students who take advantage of the OSU/COTA bus ridership program will need to swipe their BuckID when they board the bus. In the past the BuckID was shown to the driver but not swiped. This is part of a data collection program between Ohio State and COTA to determine ridership participation among OSU students.
If a student obtained their BuckID at the Ohio Union they do not need to take any further action. However, if a student obtained their card at the old BuckID Office in Lincoln Tower, they will need to bring that old card to our office to get a complimentary replacement. If the old card has been lost a $20 replacement fee will apply.
If a student is unsure where they obtained their card they can look at the back of the BuckID…if it says Lincoln Tower for the BuckID address they need to get a replacement card. If it says Ohio Union for the BuckID address they do not need to get a replacement.
